TRASH METAL

Sus acordes suelen ser simples y concisos, y las canciones, cortas, veloces y furiosas, directas al estómago y con frecuente temática acerca de sexo, violencia y todo tipo de excesos. No es un estilo precisamente virtuoso.
A mediados de los 70 el desarrollo del metal se comenzó a estancar y la mayoría de las bandas comenzaron a copiarse el sonido entre sí. Pero existen dos excepciones notables: Iron Maiden y Motörhead. Los primeros por rescatar la melodía y los tiempos narrativos y los segundos por el uso de la estética de los bikers y su música híbrida metal-punk.

Al cerrarse la etapa del Heavy Metal puro basado en el blues y el el primer Black Sabbath nace una nueva tendencia como respuesta a este estancamiento. El uso en el punk de la percusión rápida y salvaje, el fraseo atonal y los veloces cambios de ritmo se entremezclaron con el virtuosismo instrumental del heavy metal asi como con su melodización clásica, dando nacimiento al Speed Metal, cuyas características típicas son el “tempo” veloz usando la percusión rítmica para formar riffs precisos que forman la melodía enfatizando la estructura, mientras el heavy metal tradicional usaba fraseos mas cortos para enfatizar el tono y la construcción.

Los primeros exponentes de este estilo fueron Metallica (1982), Megadeth (1984) y Exodus (1984) y a ellos les corresponden las primeras obras del género. Posteriormente, cuando ya se habia cimentado un estilo basado en acordes abiertos, armonizaciones complejas y composición más melódica, el speed pasó a denominarse Thrash Metal, tomando además la influencia ideológica proveniente de bandas como D.R.I. y Cryptyc Slaughter, que se caracterizaban por temas cortos, veloces y de punzantes letras. Para muchos el disco que mejor representa el género del Thrash / Speed metal es “Master of Puppets”, de Metallica. Tambien habría que añadir “Fabulous Disaster” de Exodus. Por cierto que estas bandas no estaban solas.

Existía un grupo llamado Slayer que publicó uno de los discos definitivos del género: Reign in Blood (1986), descrito por Kerrang! como "el álbum más heavy de todos los tiempos".Dos décadas más tarde, la revista Metal Hammer lo nombra como el mejor álbum de los últimos veinte años.

A principios de los 90, el thrash alcanzó el éxito comercial.El llamado álbum negro (The Black Album, 1991) de Metallica es número uno de lista Billboard, Countdown to Extinction (1992) de Megadeth alcanza el número dos y Anthrax y Slayer llegan al top 10. Álbumes de otros grupos thrash como Testament y Sepultura se sitúan entre los cien más vendidos.
Tres grupos alemanes,Kreator, Sodom y Destruction jugaron un papel central al llevar este género a Europa.

El metal se dicide en muchos subgéneros, y uno de esos es mi querido Thrash Metal.

Según Inciclopedia (Éste es bueno): La palabra Thrash quiere decir "destrucción de todo lo absurdo. Podría decirse que Thrash Metal es algo así como....Thrash exual metálico (Alphonse Elric por ejemplo). No hay que confundirlo con "trash" que quiere decir "basura". Si no lo escribes como digo, vendrá un verdadero Thrasher y te molerá a golpes. Es conocido por ritmos destructivos y locos que birrean todo lo que pueden.

Resumiendo, el Thrash Metal es punk rock, pero más rápido y bestia, fusionado con Heavy Metal, y con líricas que tienen que ver con temas como: guerra, sangre, guerra, destrucción total de la humanidad, guerra, hipocresía, más sangre, mentiras y aunque no lo creas, MÁS sangre.

Ahora, razones por las que prefiero éste tipo de metal:

Los carajos vocalistas si bien pueden gritar a todo gañote como enfermos de hospital psiquiátrico, también pueden rasgar la voz un poco (estilo Kreator época Pleasure To Kill). Ese griterío me ayuda a relajarme y desestresarme; liberar mi ira...

Los riffs de guitarra son rápidos, violentos y brutales. ¿Han escuchado algún solo de guitarra de Slayer?

La batería JAMÁS se queda quieta. Siempre está sonando esa matraca a la velocidad de una ametralladora, a menos que sea una balada (cosa rara en una banda Thrasher)

Los temas son mayormente de crítica social. Temas que retratan el panorama de una guerra. Otros critican a la sociedad por lo hipócrita y corrupta que puede llegar a ser ésta. Entre otras temáticas.

Bueno, ya no recuerdo alguna otra razón por la que me guste éste subgénero brutal y metálico.

Mierda! No sabía que mi creatividad alcanzara como para poder escribir todo éste artículo, se alargó el tema jeje!

Bueno, eso es todo muchachos, recuerden portarse bien, mirar a los lados antes de cruzar y báñense cochinos! ¿No les da pena andar hediondos a mandriles por la calle?
